Food and Agriculture Organization
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a United Nations organization that has operated in Zambia for over 30 years, promoting improved technologies in agriculture and animal husbandry and also assisting with regional problems of droughts and floods. FAO has recognized COMACO as a viable model for improving the livelohoods of rural farmers and has selected WCS as a credible partner to facilitate its support to disadvantaged farmers. In recent past years FAO has provided inputs through COMACO for the expansion of cassava and soybean farming and for the introduction of organic vegetable gardening among selected households living in Luangwa Valley.
