Japanese Embassy

The Japanese Embassy in Zambia has a long history of development assistance in Zambia and has recognized the important contributions COMACO is making in Luangwa District where it has had a history of development support.The Embassy has provided important start-up support with inputs for selected producer groups, most especially fish pond and bee-keeping producers, and materials for the construction of the trading centre located in Luangwa District.The Embassy is reviewing options to scale-up support for bee-keepers in this District to help reduce the current level of deforestation from high rates of tree conversion to charcoal.
