Royal Norwegian Embassy
The Royal Norwegian Embassy has the largest donor investment in the wildlife sector in Zambia and has played a pivotal role in helping the Zambian Government promote wildlife conservation and tourism. Its primary geographic focus has been Luangwa Valley, but in recent years has extended its support to other areas of Zambia, most notably Kafue National Park. The Royal Norwegian Embassy brings a long history of rural development and natural resource management experience in Africa to current efforts by COMACO and views the COMACO program as an innovative way to link agriculture to conservation outside protected areas. Funding support from the Royal Norwegian Embassy has strengthened technical ties to the Embassy for improved collaboration with other partners and have provided critically important funding to more fully test and more effectively expand the COMACO model.
