IT’S WILD! Chama Rice  is both a great value and an exceptional quality. All the IT’S WILD! Chama Rice goes through a meticulous, hand sorting process to ensure that the grains are clean, of uniform size, consistent in color, and undamaged in any way. Only then is the rice processed for sale as either Chama White or Brown Rice. Brown rice is especially nutritious , having higher levels of Vit B1 and B3and iron. Vit B1 (or "thiamine") is important for vision and a proper nervous system. Vit B3 (or "niacin") is essential for healthy brain activity, healthy skin and may help to keep cholesterol levels low, reducing risks for heart disease. Iron is essential for healty red blood cells. Brown rice is also higher in essential fatty acids and fiber - having 3.5 gms of dietary fiber per serving. Dietary fiber also helps reduce cholesterol, and improves colonic regularity.

By processing the rice locally, in COMACO managed granaries, IT’S WILD! rice also provides employment for local men and women to earn hard cash. Over the last 5 years COMACO has more than doubled the value of Chama Rice for local producers, who earn additional bonuses when complying with conservation farming practices and abandoning the use of wire snares that kill wildlife.
