Isaac Mwanaumo has proved to be a valuable asset for WCS since he joined the organisation in July 2003 as Procurement Officer. He is responsible for the day to day running around and procurement of WCS project equipment and dispatching of goods and services to COMACO regional offices in the Eastern Province.
Since the time Isaac joined WCS, he has managed to establish sound relations first, with the rest of WCS/COMACO staff and secondly with the supplier companies. His ability to maintain excellent relationships with suppliers has helped the organisation to acquire goods and services for the organisation without much difficulty. Isaac has also made significant strides in record keeping for WCS/COMACO as he has a special way of keeping his records and ensures that goods and services are not misused.
Despite his busy and never ending hectic schedule Isaac has been on his toes making sure that the COMACO project runs smoothly without many hitches. He has also managed to purchase vehicles and other equipment vital for the project. In addition to this, he takes it upon himself to see to it that the vehicles are good condition and insured.
During the installation of HF radios in the Community Trading Centers (CTCs), Isaac made himself available and took part in the installation of these important gadgets for effective communication throughout Community Trading Centers (CTC) in all COMACO operational areas.
Asked what he thinks about the COMACO project, Isaac who is in constant touch with staff in Eastern Province said the project is very viable and needs more support than ever before. He said field workers need to be well motivated in order for them to execute this enormous task of preserving natural resources . He said the primary objective of the project is to conserve wild species and to ensure that they are not destructed by human beings.
Because of his exemplary commitment towards the COMACO project by ensuring that goods and services are procured on time, WCS is proud to recognise Isaac as the COMACO person of the month.
