IT'S WILD! Products: Organic, Healthy and Local

The IT'S WILD! products originate from people who have struggled to change their lives in order to give up poaching and provide for their families, and just as important, helped along by the market Zambian consumers who buy these products, all for a better Zambia with more wildlife, a better protected Luangwa Valley and safer livelihoods for rural farmers.

What has happened may sound like a miracle. Perhaps. Magical, certainly, because COMACO started with a dream most thought would never come true.  The dream was to run a business to help end poverty and hunger as part of a deal with rural communities to help save Luangwa Valley’s wildlife.  COMACO asks farmers to give up their vices of poaching and other destructive practices and adopt farming methods good for their soils.  In return, they have the benefits of a market that pays top prices and helps with inputs and skills to grow more food.  The business is driven by It’s Wild! products, which continue to grow and expand in range and quality, now exceeding ZMK600 million in sales per month.  Approximately 40% of gross market sales returns to the rural communities COMACO supports.

It’s Wild! products are all organic and formulated to be healthy and tasty for Zambians to enjoy and benefit from.  All processing procedures follow strict quality assurance guidelines, using high quality farm produce straight from the very farmers COMACO supports for final product production.

Products range from white and brown rice in varying package sizes,  smooth and crunchy peanut butter in small and large containers, a range of packaged beans, groundnut flour, fresh groundnuts, roasted groundnut snacks, Yummie Soy drink and porridge with three flavours, HEPS, full fat and low fat soy flour and soy oil.

COMACO promotes these products in both the retail and wholesale market channels and can make customized orders for institutional buyer in bulk.  COMACO’s head office is in Lusaka where direct sales are possible and direct orders can be made.
