COMACO welcomes volunteers who bring exceptional and needed skills to the work that COMACO does. This could be within Zambia, while providing peer-level training to COMACO’s own Zambian staff, or work undertaken in one’s own country. COMACO Ltd is fortunate to have Doris Benson, based in the USA, to help manage applications. Inquiries or expressions of interest should be emailed to Doris at dwbenson1@verizon.net. Some of the types of work volunteers could contribute their time and expertise to include the following:
- Editing sound files for radio stories to be broadcast to COMACO farmers
- Editing clip files for video stories for website and as training tools
- Editing and updating website
- Setting up website database
- Internet research (food processing equipment pricing and appropriate technologies, studies)
- Food product research
- Research: farm systems, crop science, soil management, agroforestry, etc.
- Transport logistics and fleet management skills
- Production of training manuals
- Economic modelling and analysis
- Social science research
- Label and package design
